Contemporary full dark brown calf, titles and elaborate decoration to spines gilt, twin morocco title labels black and crimson, raised bands, single rule to diced boards, marbled endpapers and edges. With folding maps in colour and black and white. Two bookplates to front pastedown in each volume, previous owner’s inscription to front free endpaper in volume I, expertly rebacked with original spines laid down, the spine to volume I is chipped in the penultimate compartment, boards and spines a little rubbed with some wear to extremities, bindings still tight, gilt tooling very bright and very decorative, an excellent set.
