Volume I was entirely re-set following Sir Winston’s “acerbic” comments concerning the reabability of the the first issue, and Cassell accepted revisions on just these two volumes of the series. Inscribed on the first blank in volume one “Inscribed by Winston Churchill 1950”. Churchill’s masterpiece, his monumental history of World War II.

6 volumes, 8vo. Original black cloth, titles to spines gilt, top edges stained red. With the dustjackets. With diagrams and tables throughout the text. Some fading and wear to jackets. A very good set.
