12 volumes, small 8vo. (140 × 94mm). Original bright red cloth, titles ornately gilt to spines, double panel in blind to the boards, endpapers with sepia foliate decoration. Each volume with an engraved title page, a different portrait of Shakespeare to each, each play with an illustrated title page, vignetted illustrations throughout as head- and tail-pieces. Free endpapers a little browned, spines just a touch sunned, but overall an extremely bright and attractive set.
