Octavo. Original senatorial purple cloth, titles and illustration top front board in white, titles to spine gilt. From the library of Walter Hirst with his engraved bookplate to the front pastedown. Fore edge and text with typical light foxing, top edge just a little marked, spine faded as usual, boards somewhat mottled as usual. A very presentable copy of a notoriously vulnerable publication.
